Born in Bilbao, Idoia Bengoa studied recorder with Agostino Cirillo and Thomas Kügler, and learned historical bassoons with Adrian Rovátkay, studying also with David Sattler.
Among other groups, Idoia has performed with the Lautten Compagney, the Wrocław Baroque Orchestra, Trondheim Barokk, La Dolcezza, Ensemble de la Chapelle Saint Marc, Concerto Brandenburg, Glossarium and Le Tendre Amour (tour of William Shakespeare’s The Tempest). She is also a member of the ensemble Cultus Harmonicus and has participated in the complete recording of Melchior Vulpius’ Cantiones Sacrae with Capella Daleminzia, conducted by René Röder.
